<p>Now delete the red shape.<br />
You can notice that the selection is still in that place<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125879218205.jpg" alt="Button With Light" title="Button With Light" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>

<p>To begin, first make a new document of course. Mine is 200&#215;200px. You can either create this first on a separate document, or go straight ahead and do it right on an existing GUI. Fill the document with #888888. It is good practice to create things with guides, so go ahead and drag out a horizontal and a vertical guide. If your rulers are showing, you can just click on either ruler, and drag a guide out, if not, you can insert them manually. Make sure the guides are both at the 100px marker so we have a center.</p>
<p>Now with the Elliptical Marquee Tool (M), position the cursor over the center of the guides. Hold Shift + Alt, and drag out about 120px. Create a new layer named &#8220;inset&#8221; and fill the selection with Black.</p>
<p><img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/12569025061.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>With the Elliptical Marquee Tool (M) tool again, position the cursor in the center of the document. Holding Shift + Alt again, drag out, until the selection is about 4px smaller then the previous black circle. Create a new layer named &#8220;base&#8221; and fill it with #2a2a2a. Open the Blending Options, and apply the following style:<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/12569025062.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>That is a Black to Transparent Gradient.<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/12569025063.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>Drag out a circle like we have been doing, but this time, make it about 15px smaller then the circle we just made. Create a new layer called &#8220;base-inset&#8221; and fill it with #2a2a2a. Open up the Blending Options and apply the following:<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/12569025064.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>That is a Black to Transparent Gradient.<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/12569025065.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>Too add a little extra 3D feel to it, lets add a highlight to the top of the inset. This will give the impression that that tip is what is catching the light, and whatever is under it, is lower (the inset), and is just shadow. So, make a selection of &#8220;base-inset&#8221;, and make a new layer called &#8220;highlight&#8221;. Now go to Edit &gt; Stroke &gt; 1px Outside . With a soft eraser selected, erase the bottom 2/3 of the stroke. Now lower the opacity to about 8%.<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/12569025066.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>Now it is time to make the little &#8220;finger-grips.&#8221; This can be an annoying task if you do it the traditional way, but lucky there is a little trick to make some nice lines around a circle. So, with the Ellipse Tool (U) (Paths:) draw out a circle about 5px wider then the inset layer.</p>
<p>Now when you select the Type Tool, and you hover your mouse over the path, you should see this:<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/12569025067.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>With White Verdana 6px on Smooth, type out some |&#8217;s around the path. Now, open up the characters pallet, and change the letter spacing to 1500.<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/12569025068.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>Now apply the following styles to the text:<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/12569025069.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p><img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250610.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p><img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250611.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>Which should give you a pretty awesome result!<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250612.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>Create a new layer called &#8220;highlight-2&#8243; and make an oval at the top of the &#8220;base&#8221; layer. With a white-to-transparent gradient, drag down over the selection. Lower the opacity to about 20%.<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250613.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>Well the actual knob is done, but we need some sort of indicator! And as I mentioned at you saw at the start, this one is going to have a nice orb in the center.</p>
<p>Alrighty, go ahead and make a new layer called &#8220;orb-base&#8221; and drag out a new circular selection from the center. This one should be about 6px smaller than the inset circle. Fill it with #147ac1. Apply the following Blending Options:<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250614.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p><img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250615.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>(The outer glow is the same color as the orb (#147ac1).<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250616.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>That should give you this!<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250617.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>Duplicate the &#8220;orb&#8221; layer, name &#8220;inner-glow&#8221; and change the Fill to 0%. Apply the following Blending Options:<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250618.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>Duplicate the &#8220;inner-glow&#8221; layer and call it &#8220;inner-glow-2&#8243;. Apply the following Blending Option:<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250619.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>Duplicate &#8220;inner-glow-2&#8243; and name it &#8220;inner-glow-3&#8243;. Apply these settings!<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250620.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>That gives a pretty good result by itself (all with just a few blending options), but let&#8217;s take it a step further. Here is what it should look like now:<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250621.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>Make another circular selection from the center, and drag it until it is about 4px smaller then the orb. Create a new layer named &#8220;full-highlight&#8221; and fill it with #FFFFF. Set the Blending Mode to &#8220;Overlay&#8221; and lower the Opacity to 15%<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250622.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>Make a new layer called &#8220;highlight-top&#8221; and make an oval selection at the top of the orb. With a white-to-transparent gradient, drag down over the selection. Lower the opacity to about 35%.<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250623.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>Create a small white circle in the center of the Orb. Delete the inner section leaving about a 4px wide stroke. Blur that with a Gaussian blur of about 4. Lower the opacity and set it to Overlay. Duplicate that layer and make it a little smaller. Position them like below. (I was a little brief in that part because it isn&#8217;t totally necessary, just a little extra glow.<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250624.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>
<p>Make a new layer called &#8220;indicator&#8221;. Create another circle from the center, and end up about 4px from the edge of the orb. Fill it with White. Drag out another circle, but stop about 4px before the edge of the white circle you just made. Hit Delete. Lower the Opacity to about 20%. Duplicate this layer, and raise the Opacity to about 30%. This will the the indicator of how high the knob has been turned.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve just added some text saying what the knob is for and a little drop shadow to the main inset layer., and I&#8217;m done! (And so are you!)<br />
<img style="padding-bottom:10px" title="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125690250625.jpg" alt="Knob Video Tutorial in Photoshop" /></p>

<p><strong>Step 1 &#8211; Preparation</strong></p>
<p>First, create a new image say <strong>150&#215;50px</strong> and Fill (<strong> Edit > Fill </strong>) the background with the color Black ( Hex <strong>#000000</strong> ) You will be able to change this color later so do not worry about it now.</p>
<p><strong>Step 2 &#8211; Creating the Layer Set</strong></p>
<p>Create a new set and name it “glowing glass” You will be making your button in this set, if you don&#8217;t know then Go <strong>&#8220;Layer > New > Layer Set&#8221;</strong> ,Create a new layer in the set and name it “glass”</p>
<p><strong>Step 3 &#8211; Two Circular Selections</strong></p>
<p>Take the <strong>Elliptical Marquee Tool</strong> and change its settings to what is shown below.<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665201.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p>Now make a selection on the left side of your image. You should notice how the circle does not change size hence the “fixed size”. Fill (<strong> Edit > Fill </strong>) this circle with White ( Hex <strong>#ffffff </strong>). Do not deselect at this point.</p>
<p>While pressing the Shift key, press the right arrow key. You will see the selection move 10 pixels at a time. Move the selection as many times right as you want your button long. I went for 9 moves.<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665302.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p><strong>Fill ( Edit > Fill )</strong> the selection with White ( <strong>Hex #ffffff</strong> ). Deselect the selection.<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665303.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p><strong>Step 4 &#8211; Finalizing the Button Shape</strong></p>
<p>Now comes the fun part, the button is not looking like a buttons shape so we have to make it look like one.</p>
<p>Take your <strong>Rectangular Marquee Tool</strong> and change the settings back to the default.<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665304.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p>Now what you want to do is create a selection of the buttons insides. You will see what I mean from the image below:<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665305.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p>Fill the selection with White ( <strong>Hex #ffffff</strong> ) and deselect.<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665306.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p><strong>Step 5 &#8211; Applying Blending Options</strong></p>
<p>Yay you have a button looking shape! Time to make it look like a button now!</p>
<p><strong>Right click</strong> layer “glass” on your<strong> Layer Palette</strong> and open the “<strong>Blending Options</strong>&#8230;” for it.</p>
<p>Insert the following settings:<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665307.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/><br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665308.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/><br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665309.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/><br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665310.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/><br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665311.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/><br />
The Blue I use is <strong>#00FFF7</strong><br />
You may be thinking “hey that looks really stupid.” Yes it does. But we can change that!</p>
<p><strong>Invert</strong> (<em> Ctrl-I or Image > Adjustments > Invert</em> ) the colors of the image. Change the <strong>Blending Mode</strong> of layer “<strong>glass</strong>” to &#8220;<strong>screen</strong>&#8220;.<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665312.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p><strong>Step 6 &#8211; Adding a Reflection</strong></p>
<p>Time to create the <strong>reflection</strong> on the top. Create a new layer and name it “<strong>reflection</strong>”.</p>
<p>While pressing <strong>Ctrl</strong>, click on layer &#8220;glass&#8221;. Press D to reset the Color Palette and choose your <strong>Gradient Tool</strong>. Make sure your settings are the image below.<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665313.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p>Using the <strong>Gradient tool, while pressing shift, click and drag</strong> from the <strong>bottom</strong> of the button to the <strong>top</strong>. Change layer &#8220;<strong>reflections</strong>&#8220;<strong> Blending Mode</strong> to “<strong>screen</strong>” and turn down the <strong>Opacity to 32%</strong>.</p>
<p>Take the <strong>Elliptical Marquee Tool</strong> and make a selection like the image to the right. The selection will be a large circle so you may have to zoom out or make the window larger.<br />
Press delete and deselect.<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665314.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p><strong>Step 7 &#8211; Adding Text</strong></p>
<p>The button is done and it is time to add the text. You can use any text you want but I highly recommend using <strong>BitDust 2</strong><br />
Click Here To Download <a href="http://www.myfreetutorials.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/bitdust2.zip">BitDust 2</a></p>
<p>Take the <strong>Horizontal Type Tool</strong> and write something on your button in White ( <strong>Hex #ffffff</strong> ).<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665315.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p>Looking a little blank isn’t it? Let’s add a<strong> blending option</strong>. Open up the Blending Options for the text layer. Apply what is shown in the image to the left.<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665316.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p><strong>Step 8 &#8211; Adding a Text Reflection</strong></p>
<p>We are going to add a reflection of the text. <strong>Duplicate the text layer</strong> and <strong>Flip</strong> the text vertically ( <em>Edit > Transform > Flip Vertical</em> ).</p>
<p>Now <strong>move it down until it is 1 pixel under</strong> the original text<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665317.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p>Go <em>layer > add layer mask > reveal all</em>. Take the <strong>Gradient Tool</strong> and while<strong> pressing shift</strong>, drag from the bottom of the text you just made to the top of the right side up text.<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665318.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p><strong>Step 9 &#8211; Adding a Divider</strong><br />
Now we are going to add a divider and an arrow to the button. Create a <strong>new layer</strong> and call it “<strong>divide</strong>”</p>
<p>Take the <strong>Rectangular Marquee Tool</strong> and make a <strong>1&#215;18 pixel selection</strong> (in other words make a selection that is 1 pixel wide and goes from 1 pixel away from the top to 1 pixel away from the bottom of the button).</p>
<p>Now Fill ( <em>Edit > Fill</em> ) this with <strong>Black ( Hex #000000 )</strong> and <strong>move the selection 1 pixel over to the right</strong> and Fill (<em> Edit > Fill </em>) it with <strong>White ( Hex #ffffff )</strong> Change the Blending Mode of layer <strong>“divide” to “soft light”.</strong><br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665319.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p>Create a <strong>new layer</strong> named “<strong>arrow</strong>”. Take the <strong>Polygonal Lasso Tool</strong> and make a selection of an arrow like the image to the left.</p>
<p><strong>Fill</strong> ( <em>Edit > Fill </em>) it with <strong>White ( Hex #ffffff ).</strong><br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125619665320.jpg" alt="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Glowing Glass Button Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>

<p>First create a new document any size you want (I’ve used 180×80) and fill it up with <strong>#212121.</strong><br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125595490401.gif" alt="Stylish Colorful Buttons Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Stylish Colorful Buttons Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p>Create a new layer and using your <strong>“Rectangular Marque Tool”</strong> make a selection which is going to be your button. Now go to <strong>Select>Modify>Smooth</strong>, set it to <strong>3 px</strong> and press OK.<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125595490402.gif" alt="Stylish Colorful Buttons Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Stylish Colorful Buttons Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p>Now you can fill it up wih any color you want using the <strong>“Paint Bucket Tool”</strong>. I’ve used <strong>#b00000</strong> and this is what I came up with:<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125595490403.gif" alt="Stylish Colorful Buttons Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Stylish Colorful Buttons Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>

<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125595490408.gif" alt="Stylish Colorful Buttons Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Stylish Colorful Buttons Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>

<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125595490409.gif" alt="Stylish Colorful Buttons Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Stylish Colorful Buttons Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>

I’ve used the font <strong>“Arial Narrow”</strong>, Regular, with size of <strong>13 px</strong> and Sharp. You can use any size you want, it depends on the size of your button.<br />
<img src="http://lol.com.pk/img/images/125595490410.gif" alt="Stylish Colorful Buttons Video Tutorial in Photoshop" title="Stylish Colorful Buttons Video Tutorial in Photoshop" style="padding-bottom:10px"/></p>
<p>Doesn’t look so sharp, right? Let’s add some <strong>“Drop Shadow”</strong>. Again right click on your layer in the <strong>“Layers Panel”</strong> and press <strong>“Bledning Options”</strong>. Add the following:<br />
